Why should I join the FileMaker Technical Network?
The FileMaker Technical Network is a community of FileMaker enthusiasts — users, designers and developers — that have exclusive access to technical information, software and other developers to help them increase their technical expertise, build better solutions, share new ideas and solve technical challenges. Members of the FileMaker Technical Network receive exclusive technical briefs, white papers, how-to articles, and special “member only” Knowledge Base articles. Other benefits include the Development License of FileMaker Server Advanced, FileMaker Applications (Donations, Work Requests, Tasks, Recruiter and Meetings), pre-release software, database enhancement tools (such as graphics and templates), and access to an exclusive online forum – all for only £49+VAT per year.
What are the requirements for joining the FileMaker Technical Network?
It's easy! Simply complete the online membership form, accept the FileMaker Technical Network Member Agreement and submit payment.
What is the cost to join the FileMaker Technical Network?
The annual member fee is only £49+VAT (or equivalency in other countries).
How long will it take to process my application?
The application process takes less than two business days. Once you have completed the online application, you will receive an order confirmation email. You will then receive a welcome email with your Membership ID# that includes information on how to access the Members Only web site area. This site includes resources such as technical information, software and access to Tech Talk, the online FileMaker community exchange for members only.
Is there an upgrade path from the FileMaker Technical Network to the FileMaker Business Alliance program?
No, the FileMaker Technical Network and FileMaker Business Alliance are separate programs. The FileMaker Technical Network is for individuals looking for technical resources from FileMaker. The FileMaker Business Alliance is for organisations seeking sales and marketing support from FileMaker.
I am considering joining the FileMaker Technical Network. Will I get a membership logo I can use on my web site?
A membership logo is not available for the FileMaker Technical Network program. However, we highly recommend you become certified as a FileMaker developer. FileMaker Certification includes a logo for your business cards and for your website.
If I join the FileMaker Technical Network, will I receive a copy of FileMaker Pro?
Members of the FileMaker Technical Network receive the Development License of FileMaker Server Advanced as a member benefit, pre-release software (when available), FileMaker Applications (Donations, Work Requests, Tasks, Recruiter, and Meetings) and database enhancement tools such as graphics and templates. No other software applications are included for the annual £49+VAT fee.
Will I receive the software on CD or by other means?
No. However, members are encouraged to archive software they personally download from the Members Only area to CD or other archival media.
What kind of technical resources can I expect as a member of the FileMaker Technical Network?
FileMaker Technical Network Members have exclusive access to technical briefs, how-to articles, white papers, web seminars and specially selected Knowledge Base articles throughout the year. These resources will be made available in the FileMaker Technical Network Members Only area on the FileMaker website. Members will have access to the online Tech Talk forum where other members exchange ideas and real world experiences. FileMaker Technical Network members will also be notified about updates and special product announcements.
Do FileMaker Technical Network members get a discount on the FileMaker Training Series?
Yes, members received 50% off the FileMaker Training Series book and CD. Members must purchase the materials through the FileMaker Technical Network member only website.
Is priority telephone technical support included as part of my membership?
No. However, members will have direct access to FileMaker technical experts from all over the world by participating in the FileMaker Tech Talk online forum, accessible through the Members Only area of the web site.
Could you tell me more about the FileMaker Business Alliance?
The FileMaker Business Alliance (FBA) is designed exclusively for companies that provide products and services based on the FileMaker product line. This includes FileMaker consultants, trainers, publishers, commercial solution providers, plug-in providers, and hosting companies.
