Conditional Formatting
Visually format fields and objects based on conditions you choose.
What is Conditional Formatting
Are your vendor payments overdue? What contracts are expiring next month? Are you on time and under budget? Conditional Formatting lets you format layout objects to change automatically when they meet specified conditions.
You can set Conditional Formatting for text fields, FileMaker Web Viewer objects, merge fields, text-based buttons or layout symbols (e.g. date, time, page number, etc.). Choose how objects display by modifying fonts, styles, size, text colour and fill colour. Pick from a list of 20 pre-defined conditions or create your own with a calculation for enhanced reporting. Conditional Formatting settings affect only the way data is displayed or printed and not how data is stored in the database.
How you can use it
Use Conditional Formatting to give your sales reports visual impact. If you want to quickly identify how each region is performing quarter over quarter, set the revenue fields to automatically appear a certain colour when a region falls below the forecast or when it outperforms expectations. With Conditional Formatting you can easily identify trouble spots that need attention or shining stars that are contributing to your organisation's success.
