Seachem Laboratories Inc win the FileMaker Mobile Champion of the Year Award at Macworld Awards 2011

FileMaker Go also scoops Best iOS Business and Utility App

LONDON, UK – 17th June 2011 – International pet specialists, Seachem Laboratories Inc., last night won the FileMaker Mobile Champion of the Year award at the Macworld Awards 2011.

FileMaker teamed up with Macworld magazine to celebrate innovation and tenacity in the workplace by creating the FileMaker Mobile Champion of the Year award. The award is designed to recognise innovators who have grasped the opportunities of a mobile workforce to help build a better business.

This year's Macworld Awards, held on 16th June at the the Wyndham Grand, London Chelsea Harbour, proved to be hugely successful, packed full of talented individuals and inspirational companies picking up well deserved awards. Amongst the guests were those shortlisted for the FileMaker Mobile Champion of the Year award; a diverse range of gifted professionals, each deserving recognition for their mobile business solutions. But on the night there could only be one winner; Seachem Laboratories Inc. who showed true innovation within its mobile workforce.

Operating worldwide, including the UK, Seachem Laboratories is recognised for its progressive approach to mobile computing including the development of an innovative barcode-based CRM system. A combination of Apple MacBook Airs, iPhones and FileMaker database technology allow Seachem's sales managers to perform efficient on-site audits of shops carrying Seachem products. The data is used internally for tracking and rewarding high-performers, while consumers can search the data via Seachem's website. The company has also developed iPhone applications to allow remote sales managers to submit itemised expense reports and to guide consumers on correct use of Seachem's products.

"We're always impressed by the level of talent discovered by the Macworld Award entrants, and this year is no exception," commented Tony Speakman, Director, FileMaker Northern Region. "The judges had a real challenge to pick a winner this year, all the mobile solutions were of such a high standard, but in the end we were unanimous in our decision to award the sterling efforts of Seachem Laboratories Inc. In a mobile generation, the way in which technology had been adopted to boost business efficiency really encapsulated the spirit of the award."

Collecting the award on the night, Seachem's International Sales Manager, Brian Miller said "The mobile tools Seachem has developed have greatly impacted our sales and efficiency. It is wonderful this is recognised outside of the aquatics industry."

Other shortlisted entries that excelled in the field were Sheffield International Venues, Linear Blue Ltd, Rdio, Global Delight Technologies Pvt. Ltd and Yeptext.com. All entrants showed a real originality and talent and there can be no doubt of their future success.

FileMaker also didn't come away empty-handed. FileMaker Go won the editor's coveted award of Best iOS Business and Utility App, amidst tough competition from Marketcircle, LogMeIn and ABBYY.
