Bento wins top prize at Macworld Awards 2008
London, 13th June 2008, FileMaker has scooped two prestigious Macworld awards, including the top prize for best product of the night, for Bento, the new personal database from FileMaker that's as easy to use as your Mac.
The Macworld Awards is an annual event, recognising the products and vendors that have made a significant contribution throughout the past year.
FileMaker won two awards for Bento, the first in the Best Consumer Software category beating hopefuls such as VMWare, C-Command Software, Parallels, Prosoft and Roxio and the second in the final award category of the night – the Macworld Grand Prix award. The first year the category has been included as part of the Macworld event, the Macworld team took all the winners from the night and picked the most ground-breaking, original and exciting product from the past 12 months – Bento. To scoop the award, Bento beat off products from Adobe, Microsoft and Sony.
Tony Speakman regional manager for Northern Europe was there to collect the awards on the night. He commented: "To win the Best Consumer Software category was an achievement but to also win the Macworld Grand Prix Award for best product of the night is fantastic. The competition was fierce but Bento has had such a strong reception amongst the Mac community and we are looking forward to developing this product further."
